Use the training case first
CPL Proof opens with a clearly labeled synthetic OV/VF inspection case. It contains metadata and deterministic placeholders rather than playable cinema essence. Review Package Set, Dependencies, Verification, Screening, and Handoff before opening a private package folder.
Import every required package
Choose each package root containing its AssetMap, Packing List, and Composition Playlist. CPL Proof preserves each import as a revision inside the case. Add the matching Original Version when a Version File depends on picture, sound, subtitle, caption, marker, or data assets supplied elsewhere.
Choose hash coverage
The quick scan hashes declared metadata files and records remaining asset digests as pending. Run full hashes when you need to compare all declared package assets. Large media files can take time and require the source drive to remain available. Use Cancel scan to stop a scan or hash pass. Canceled work does not add a partial revision to the case. Only explicitly supported SHA-1 and SHA-256 algorithm identifiers are hashed; other declarations remain unsupported.
Interpret the dependency rail
Local means the selected package physically supplies the track. External means another imported package in the same case supplies it. Missing means no viable supplier was found. Failed integrity means a candidate supplier exists but its checked digest does not match the package declaration.
Plan the screening window
Select the composition, show time, time zone, and lead and tail buffers. Import KDM XML and optionally enter the expected cinema-server certificate thumbprint from a trusted record. CPL Proof compares parsed targeting and validity metadata; it does not decrypt content or verify certificate chains.
Export the case handoff
Enter the operator, venue, screen, drive label, and notes, then generate the local evidence package. It contains a PDF report, package inventory CSV, dependency graph CSV, findings CSV, versioned case JSON, and plain-text screening handoff.
Before exhibition
CPL Proof is a mobile metadata and file-integrity preflight aid. Complete a standards-aware desktop verifier pass, cinema-server ingest, trusted KDM and device checks, and a controlled screening before exhibition.

Include the app version, device model, iOS or iPadOS version, package standard if known, the workspace involved, and reproducible steps. Do not email DCP essence, KDM files, private keys, or confidential venue identifiers.

If a saved case cannot be read, the original file is preserved and changes are blocked. Save preserved case copy exports the original for recovery; it does not repair damaged data. Failed writes restore the prior saved case and display an error. Evidence generation is blocked after a save failure so the report cannot silently use an older case.
